Dundry Historians

Same time - second Tuesday of the month, 8 o'clock.

Same place - Dundry Primary School.

Different subject - each time.

Who are we? Certainly not a group of dry academics living in the past. We are just ordinary villagers who enjoy hearing interesting speakers. Some talks have a local historical bias, others are more wide-ranging. All are worth listening to.

Well the Autumn nights are drawing in and the first meeting of our group (for the period October 2011 to May 2012) took place on the12th October, when Professor Ronald Hutton, from Bristol University gave a fascinating talk on ("Village Magic? or Witchcraft?)

During the coming months we shall have speakers on a range of subjects:

Why not come to hear what we learn about the area surrounding us? As you can see, we have a varied and fascinating programme and we are eager to make you welcome. So why not pay us a visit.

We are in the process of arranging our annual outing when members will visit and go down a Coal Mine near Newport. The Mine is part of the National Museum of Wales.
